Rest in the shadow

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. — Psalm 91:1

Let the Lord protect you!

God has a place to keep us safe. In other Psalms it is referred to as God’s tent, as a hiding place, and as God’s dwelling. It is His shelter for us from enemies and adversity and temptations. Through faith we reside under His protection. But we are not simply living somewhere in safety, we have God as our companion!

Our security is because we are children of the Maker of all things, and each day we live in His presence. How large is His presence? Well, how big is God’s shadow? It covers everything and everywhere! We can be assured He is always with us. Not only are we completely safe, we have confidence that our Father is constantly with us and constantly cares for us. We are at ease and watched over. We rest in His shadow!
